Vista Tassajara Neighborhood Guide | Danville

Vista Tassajara is a planned community in the heart of the Camino Tassajara corridor, and it's one I often point buyers toward when they want established construction, real amenities, and Tassajara Valley views without the price tag of the corridor's newest developments. Standard Pacific built it between 1990 and 1995 as a cohesive community of 208 homes, and three decades on it has the settled streetscape and mature landscaping that newer subdivisions are still years away from.

The homes here were designed for everyday living, generally ranging from about 2,200 to 3,500 square feet, with some plans pushing a bit larger. You'll find traditional two-story designs with the open kitchen-family layouts, vaulted ceilings, and three-car garages that buyers ask me about, and several homes capture sweeping views across the Tassajara Valley toward Mount Diablo. Lots typically run from around 5,000 to 10,000 square feet, with a handful stretching to roughly a third of an acre — a comfortable range for buyers who want a manageable yard rather than acreage.

One of Vista Tassajara's real draws is the amenity package. Unlike some neighboring communities, it has a homeowners association that maintains a community pool and spa, a private park, and open space — so there's somewhere to swim and gather without leaving the neighborhood. I don't publish HOA dues in these guides since they change, but I'll always walk you through the current figures, the reserves, and the rules for any home we consider.

Location is a strong selling point. You're minutes from everyday shopping and dining at Tassajara Crossing — Safeway, CVS, Starbucks, a movie theater, and a gym — and from the upscale shops and restaurants at Blackhawk Plaza. The boutiques, dining, and year-round farmers' market of downtown Danville are a short drive, and the Sports Park playing fields are close by for the active households I work with. For commuters, Camino Tassajara and Crow Canyon Road connect you to I-680 and the broader Bay Area. One thing I often point out: this eastern corridor tends to offer more home for the money than west-side Danville, which makes Vista Tassajara a compelling value for buyers comparing across town.

Vista Tassajara is served by the highly regarded SRVUSD, and homes in this corridor have typically been assigned to either Tassajara Hills or Creekside Elementary, then Diablo Vista Middle and Monte Vista High. I'm deliberately naming two elementary options because assignments along this corridor genuinely vary street to street, and boundaries can shift — so if schools are driving your decision, I'll confirm the current assignment for the specific address directly with the district before we write. On carrying costs, an established community from the early 1990s like this generally isn't carrying the Mello-Roos special tax assessments tied to the corridor's newer developments — but I still pull the actual tax bill for any home so we're budgeting on real numbers.

That combination — established Standard Pacific homes, genuine community amenities, valley and Mount Diablo views, strong relative value, and access to one of the strongest school districts in the East Bay — is exactly why Vista Tassajara stays on so many of my buyers' lists. Whether you're hoping to buy here or you already own and want to know what your home would bring in today's market, I'd love to be your guide. Let's connect.
