Where it sits

The Jensen Tract is located along Santa Rita Road, right at the gateway to downtown Pleasanton. A helpful way to picture it: the Jensen Tract and the neighboring Amador Estates are essentially divided by Alisal Elementary School — the homes on the south side of Alisal are the Jensen Tract, and those on the north side are Amador Estates. You're directly across from Amador Valley High School, and just across Santa Rita Road you'll find the Pleasanton Aquatic Center and the 23-plus-acre Amador Valley Community Park. Downtown Pleasanton's restaurants and shops are an easy walk away.

How it came to be

The Jensen Tract was one of Pleasanton's original subdivisions, built by Jensen Homes beginning in the mid-1950s — making it one of the first neighborhoods to take shape as Pleasanton grew. Because boundaries can change over time, I always confirm the current designated schools parcel by parcel — but few Pleasanton neighborhoods put the schools this close.

Parks and recreation

Outdoor amenities are a real strength here. Just across Santa Rita Road, the Amador Valley Community Park spans more than 23 acres with picnic areas, sports fields, play areas, and more, and the Pleasanton Aquatic Center is right there as well. The fields behind Alisal Elementary are also open as a public park during non-school hours. Between all of that and the walk to downtown, there's no shortage of ways to get outside.
